Eastern Institute for Integrated Learning in Management University

The Eastern Institute for Integrated Learning in Management is a private educational institution located in South Sikkim district in the Indian state of Sikkim. EIILM is run by Rai Foundation. Malvika Foundation is the Sponsoring Body of EIILM University.Established by Gujarat State Legislature under Gujarat Act No. 12 of 2012, Rai University provides management courses educational Institutes chain of franchisee. EIILM University, Sikkim, India was fully recognized and approved by the University Grants Commission and was established under Sikkim State Legislature Act No 4, 2006 Government of Sikkim, but was never approved or recognised by the Distance Education Council . The Act received assent of the Governor on March 24, 2006 that was published under the Government of Sikkim, Gazette Notification No. 28/LD/2006 dated April 3, 2006. The University has been since dissolved and de-recognised by the UGC for all courses beyond the academic year 2009-10 . All degrees other than of those students admitted within the territorial jurisdiction of State of Sikkim were held to be invalid. Only degrees in three Courses, i.e. B.A., BCA and MBA for regular students till academic year 2009-10 were held to be valid by the UGC Fact Finding Committee's recommendations. The University is not functioning since December 2014, as per the UGC website and Fact Finding Report. As per the news report dated 05.08.2013, the VC, Chairman, Registrar, and the Controller of Examinations were arrested by the Police in Sikkim and Bengal in a case of forgery, cheating and criminal conspiracy.
