When Dilip Chhabria chose to go to the Art Center of Design, Pasadena, USA, he’d already ambled down the road less traveled, on a road unheard of. In times of engineers, doctors, lawyers and journalists, he chose to study Transportation Design.His words - ‘I want to leave my mark as a man, to create what no one can, to rise up and prove that you can achieve all your dreams if you want them badly enough’ are an inspiration to all the present and prospective students of DYPDC. In 1993, he set-up Dilip Chhabria Design with the sole aim of offering design and prototyping services to the Indian OEM industry as well as customized one-off solutions to the individual buyer. What had started as one man’s passion for cars has today evolved into an organization of over 400 designers, engineers and highly skilled craftsmen. In a span of 19 years since inception the company has designed and built over 700 concepts all of which also ply as regular road cars. The company has successfully delivered international projects both for the automotive companies as well as the individual high net worth clients. Padmashree Dr. DY Patil
His Excellency - The Governor of Tripura the driving force behind the group and the soul of DY Patil group is the humble and unassuming, Dr. DY Patil. Dr. DY Patil, presently the honorable Governor of Tripura is also a Padmashree award recipient for his outstanding service and pioneering contribution to the field of education. Over the past years‚ he has contributed immensely to the society through various educational, social and cultural initiatives. A firm believer in the expression‚ 'Actions speak louder than words'‚ his deeds reflect this philosophy in all spheres of life. Padmashree Dr. DY Patil credits all his accomplishments to the blessings of Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj of Shegaon and Shri Satya Sai Baba of Puttapurthi.

Mr. Vijay Patil
Mr. Vijay Patil graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai. Subsequently, he acquired his Masters of Business Administration degree with a specialization in Corporate Financial Management from Bond University‚ Australia. An able and an‚ enterprising leader, he is the driver of the new vision of the group. His entrepreneurial and management skills have sown the seeds for the growth of the group and have helped the group to transform into a world-class institution. Having proven his unparalleled leadership in the field of sports, education and entrepreneurship, he is a living example of the axiom ‘What One Dream’s, One Can Achieve’.

Dr. Ajeenkya DY Patil
Dr. Ajeenkya DY Patil is the chairman of DY Patil Group. He possesses a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Richmond College UK. He specialized in Marketing from London School of Economics. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University Of Central Lancashire, UK in recognition of his work as an entrepreneur and an educationalist. He has a natural curiosity for technology and innovation and a penchant for world-class quality. His persona reflects dynamism with compassion. It is his exemplary vision that led to the initiation of DYPDC - a truly unique institution and several other institutions of repute under the aegis of DY Patil Group. He has been leading the group activities from the forefront and providing the leadership and direction to several new initiatives under the group. He is a proponent of internationalization of education and has been instrumental in establishing academic collaborations with leading universities around the world. Dr Ajeenkya DY Patil has served as the Chairman of the Central Board for Workers Education, Ministry of Labour, Government of India. He has also served as Chancellor's Nominee to the University of Mumbai.
