Why ‘Dragonfly’ ?

For most of us, Dragonfly reminds us of our childhood days – running around to grab one. We, at Dragonfly Holidays, relate you to your childhood – freedom to run, explore and enjoy! However, very few know that it’s an insect known to migrate a lot – known to cross oceans and continents alike. We want the world to travel around the globe like it. Its colourful – represents the bright colours of a true traveller – various shades of emotions and experiences one goes through while on a tour. It’s quick, it’s energetic and symbolises extensive journeys – we, at Dragonfly, aim to provide you with quick solutions to all your travel related queries and make sure you travel extensively and make the most of it !

Who are We ...?

We are a team of Enthusiastic Explorers, volunteering to use our experience and knowledge to serve our clients and sculpt them into a pro-active traveller. Most of us are from dynamic backgrounds – Tourism, Wildlife, Biology, Technical grounds and so on. Combined as one team, we tend to cater to a clientele who are beyond typical picnics and packages. We enjoy working for those who like to explore, experiment, experience and learn on-the-go! We promote responsible and sustainable tourism. We aspire to ad on maximum values to our tours – sometimes as special inclusions and sometimes in the form of additional information. We prefer being honest advisers and transparency as our routine.

OUR TEAM

Makarand Karve :

Passion for vigorous travelling and exploring new places - known & unknown - have led me into travel industry - I have been working with one of the best brands in Tourism since last 5 years and have worked in sales and product designing for various Indian destinations. The craze o explore new destinations has taken me to some of the most exotic destinations like the beautiful locales of Ladakh & mesmerizing islands of Andaman. Other states on my been-there-done-that list are Himachal, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh - some fully covered, some in parts! Beyond the country, I have been to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Krabi Islands. I have been a part of more than 60 odd treks with Nisarg Trust wherein we have covered more than 50 forts in and around Western Ghats in last 3 years. Apart from trekking, I have been in Biodiversity conservation, Wildlife rescue and Social awareness. I like reading - anything that makes sense, writing on various topics, playing guitar at times and making new friends. To ad on, I have also been in a lead role in Janata Raja, Asia’s second largest play. I believe there’s so much to observe, so much to learn, so much to share and so much to care - all that matters is taking up first step!

Tanushree Attawar :

I have quit my job in one of the best multinational brand in Tourism to build up Dragonfly Holiday’s base. My experience of 3 years in the industry, specializing in Tour Operations throughout Indian Destinations – have been my strength so far. I love travelling myself – but I equally love making others travel. I find happiness in reading positive feedbacks, testimonies and seeing smiling pictures of my clients – me and my team try our best to ensure we do get most of them! When I don’t make packages, I generally laze around and hog on spicy chips and sauces. I love long drives, especially in Monsoons. Learning to Drive. I prefer being honest in my profile – and tend to take complete responsibility of my clients once they begin the tour. I am sure there’s a long way to go – happy journey amigos !

Ruturaj Joshi :

I am a student of Environmental Science from ‘University of Experience.’ I work as a naturalist with a special interest in birds, mammals and reptiles. Wildlife photography is my passion. Till date this passion took me over the 13 states of India. I have done exhibitions and workshops in Photography, wildlife and Environmental awareness. I am the founder member and trustee of the NGO ‘Nisarg Trust’, an organization for biodiversity conservation and social awareness. Since 2000, I am involved in wildlife rescue and have successfully rehabilitated more than 4000 snakes, hundreds of birds and few mammals. I was awarded ‘Bravery Award’ by ‘BMC’ & ‘Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini’ award for the rescue work in 2005 floods. Thousands of aspirants, enthusiasts and students have been attending my lectures on scientific applications, psychology and awareness. I am involved in astrophotography as well. As a feature writer, I have written more than 200 articles on wildlife, astronomy and tourism in leading newspapers. Realism is my principle and bonding has been my strength.
