The Home stay is run by a Munda Family and his friend from the community of Garo. This is not in the core area of the Reserve Forest but as located in a Forest Village of the Tiger reserve.
Panijhora is an unique Village of Indifferent Dooars where three different Jhoras (streamlets) come out from the north west of Buxa Tiger Reserve and feed the River Panijhora on the south east where Wilds comedown from the Core Forests for their activities.

Naturally Birds including wetlands are seen here throughout the day and at nights the Bark of a Barking Deer (Muntiacus muntjak) or trumpet of an Elephant (Elephas maximus) let you know their presence.
Different ethnic groups like Adibasi, Rabha, Garo and Mechh reside with the Bengalees here along with their colourful traditions and habits which attract number of Researchers in Panijhora. All these forest dwellers cultivate Rice, Makai, Marua and other crops along with different vegetables, following green agricultural methods for their livelihood. A Church is located in the centre of the Village, though most of them are Nature Worshippers and Hindus.
