Origin of Divine Himalayan Foundation

Divine Himalayan Foundation is a grassroots non-governmental organization founded in 2015 by service minded and dedicated youth of Pauri district in the state of Uttarakhand. Limited social and economic development prompted a team to start this organization to address unmet needs in the community. The NGO is registered under the society registration act 1860 .

Goal:
To improve the quality of life for oppressed, disadvantaged, and marginalized peoples.

Mission:
To provide support, build capacity, and integrate individuals into mainstream society who have traditionally been suppressed in personal, social, economic and political domains.

Objectives:
To work for spreading quality school education in rural areas in the Himalayas
To work for sustainable tourism development for communities through education, environmental cleanliness, and increasing wealth by Eco tourism and Village tourism activities in remote villages.
To organize professional training for youth who wants to be Adventure tourism professional in the Uttarakhand Himalayas.
To build a team of activist and experts for wild life conservation and resucue.
To work for prevent deforestation and habitat loss for wild animals.
To Develop naturopathy and alaternate medicine centers in rural places in the Utaarakhand Himalayas
To reduce poverty by improving economic status of individuals through income generation activities.
Location/ Area of Operation:
Divine Himalayan Foundation provides services to backward villages in Chamoli,Tehri and Pauri District as well as slums of Rishikesh city in Uttarakhand.

Target Population:
Target communities served by Divine Himalayan Foundation are from the lowest strata of society. The NGO works for upliftment of people limited by a low status in society in the areas of social, economic, domestic, personal and cultural development. The total number of people directly and indirectly benefiting from the services from Divine Himalayan Foundation NGO is approximately 1300 in 2015.
Major Activities:
Personality development training: Programs are organized for unemployed youth to build their skills and make them profitable.

Rural villagers organize high altitude treks for tourist with the help of Ngo and directly earn money by tourism activities.

Evening tuition classes for needy kids: . To address this evening classes operate to teach basic and functional mathematics and science.
Organize cleanliness drive in several tourist spots with the help of volunteers.
