Dhaura Tanda is a town and a nagar panchayat in Bareilly district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is situated 25 km from Bareilly in the west. The Ram Navami Mela fair has been held here annually since 1951.HistoryIt is believed that some people from Nepal moved to the area in the early 19th century for trade purposes and settled permanently because of the quality of the land, water and favorable climatic conditions. These people were farmers or small traders. All these people who came from Nepal were Muslims by origin and their ancestral origin is believed to be from Afghanistan or Turkey. In 1830 Mr. bade munshi ji came to this land and settled here by establishing existing Bada khandan of Dhaura. This khandan also famous to NUMBERDAR khandan. Bade munshi was first landlord of the town and was declared as head of the town by British government in 1840. In 1920 bada khandan had under 80 villages.All the peolpe of this town are cooperative,doesn't matter they belongs to which community.DemographicsA per Indian census 2014, Dhaura Tanda had a population of 50,540. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Dhaura Tanda has an average literacy rate of 65% - male literacy is 55% and female literacy is 39%. In Dhaura Tanda, 20% of the population is under 6 years of age. Muslims make up the majority of the population.Mr.Haroon was the first chairman of Dhaunra tanda.he belong to Haji khandan. In the history they never lost any election.(1972 to 1988) he was pradhan. (1989 to 1993)he became chairman.EconomyThe major economic source of Dhaura Tanda include rice industry and land cultivation. The town's economy used to be based on farming only but now the economy is growing with contribution from rice business, wheat business, animal culture and job sector especially NRI jobs.
