Ever since, the introduction of Statistics in 1962,students have been carrying out research work. More than 200 research papers have been published in various national and international journals of repute.Almost fifty researchers have completed their Ph.D so far. At present eight research scholars are pursuing research in the department for the degree of Ph.D.Out of eight, three of them are working on university Research fellowship. Five students of the department qualified NET and one student was awarded PDF.
A research scholar of our department was awarded first prize of Rs. 10,000/- in December, 2004 and second prize of Rs. 5000/- in December,2002 in the international conferences conducted by SCRA 2004, 2002, FIM XI & IX held at Lucknow and Allahabad respectively for his research papers.
One student of M.Sc course was nominated by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India as a member of Indian Youth Delegation to Pakistan from 30.06.2007 to 07.07.2007.
