Department of Aquaculture COF Mangaluru

The Department has a well established research programme in the area of fish and shellfish health management, fish nutrition & feed technology, fish & shellfish breeding with modern facilities for laboratory analyses for feeds, histopathology and disease diagnosis. The Department has modern Biotechnology and nutrition, laboratories a freshwater prawn hatchery, recirculating systems for indoor aquaculture works. The Department also has breeding and hatching facilities for cultivable and ornamental fishes, freshwater prawn and facility for histology and immunohistochemistry. The field facilities include instructional fish farm with a battery of cement and earthen ponds and hatchery facilities.
