College Of Veterinary Science, Proddatur

The Government of Andhra Pradesh established a new Veterinary College at Proddutur, Kadapa, Dt. vide G.O.Ms. No. 72 , Dated:18.7.2008 of the AHDD & F Dept, Government of Andhra Pradesh. The college started functioning from the premises of Proddutur Co-Operative Milk Producers Union, Proddutur from the academic year 2008-09 with an intake of 31 students in to the first year B.V.Sc & A.H course. The Government Vide G.O.Ms.No.247, Dated:28.8.08 of finance (SMPC) department has given sanction for the Teaching and Non-Teaching posts of the college. The Government of Andhra Pradesh vide G.O.Ms.No.1162, Dated:03.10.08 of the Revenue (ENDTS.II) Department has allotted land to an extent of Ac.83-42 cts on long lease basis for the construction of new building for the college.
Sri Prathipati Pulla Rao garu, the Hob'ble Minister for Agriculture. Agri processing, Marketing and Warehousing, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries inaugurated the newly constructed buildings of College of Veterinary Science, Proddatur on 07-03-2015. The Veterinary Council of India, New Delhi has granted recognition to the College and the number of seats in BVSc & AH has been increased to 60 from 30 from the Academic year 2014-15
