College of Management & Technology has been sponsored by College of Management Studies (CMS), which was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Bihar Late Karpoori Thakur at Patel Maidan, Samastipur on 15th November, 1978 in presence of Chief Guest Sri Guneshwar Pd. Singh (then State Minister of Higher Education, Science & Technology), Special Guests were Er. S.N. Singh (Project Manager, IDPL, Muzaffarpur) and Prof. T.N. Chaudhary (Bihar University Faculty of Management) and the function at Patel Maidan was presided over by Sri Ramavatar Sharma, then Director of Warehousing Corpn. Bihar. CMS was set-up in June, 1978 and got Registered under SR Act, 1860 (vide Regn. no. 387 of 1978-79). In April, 1979 the institution got shifted to Muzaffarpur by a Resolution dated 22/04/79 from Samastipur.

The Regd. Society : College of Management Studies (CMS) on 31st January. 1981 resolved to sponsor a job-oriented Institute of Administrative Studies (IAS) at Muzaffarpur and nursed this new institution which in May, 1990 separated by registration no. 196 of 1990-91, keeping its office in the same building. The Institute was recognised by State Board of Technical Education (Department of Science & Technology) Govt. of Bihar in 1987 and further recognised by AICTE in 1995 as an Autonomous Institution for PGDM (MBA) Course and since then all Management & IT Department are taken care by its RR Sahu Centre for Business Administration.

The mutual co-operation between CMS & IAS bore fruits in year 1999 and both of them got joint plot of 2-Acres donated by the former State Minister and MLA Late Raghunath Pandey at Jamalabad on Jhapaha-Minapur Road, Muzaffarpur. The college campus at Raghunath Nagar (Jamalabad) near Jhapaha Chowk is under-construction. Classes are therefore to be held at R.R. Sahu Centre premises in Saraiyaganj (Near Chamber of Commerce, Jawaharlal Road)

The year 1999 appears to have given a boost to the CMS to undertake professional courses for itself and prosper under the supervision & guidance of its Chairman Dr. T.N. Chaudhary who is a veteran in Management education having more than 40th years of teaching career (awarded Memento for Excellence in Management at All India Management Congress at Patna, recited as institution builder).

CMS started 3 Years BCA as Authorised Study Cnetre of Jai Prakash University, Directorate of Distance Education, Chapra with Sanctioned 60 Seats and lasted till 2006 due to jurisdiction restriction. In 2001 the Co-ordinator Yashaswee Alok proposed to have one Professional body to impart IT based Placement & Training and thus 1 Info-Management Solutions Pvt Ltd was regd under Companies Act, 1956. and got approval as Authrised Learning Centre of Sikkim Manipal University, DE (SMU-DE) imparting IT & Management Courses - BCA, BBA, MCA& MBA. RR Sahu Centre for Business Administration had been common platform to conduct all courses. This Institution was first to introduce and admitted students in BBA Course in 2001 in North Bihar. It has organised several Job Drives and Convocation and it is one of the leading institution in Bihar.

The Institute has highly qualified Faculties in IT & Management possess several Master Level Degree along with Ph.D and have been renowned in other prestigious Institutions as Guest Faculty.

Since 2012, College of Management & Technology was recognised as Knowledge Resource Centre by Govt of Bihar Established STATE UNIVERSITY - Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic & Persian University, Patna (MMHAPU, Patna) to conduct Degree courses – BCA,BBA, BLIS, BAJM and several other Job Oriented Professional Diploma & Certificate courses after 10+2.

ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY (MMHAPU) :
MAULANA MAZHARUL HAQUE ARABIC AND PERSIAN UNIVERSITY Patna was established under the provisions of the Bihar State Universities Act. 1976 (as amended by Bihar Act.9, 1992) with effect from 10 April 1998 (vide MHRD, Govt. of Bihar notification no. 1998 dated 22 November 2006). The Jurisdiction of this University is whole of Bihar and it is recognized under 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956. The University is enrolled as a member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU) New Delhi with effect from December 2009.

Any person holding the minimum qualification prescribed for the courses can apply for admission in the courses being offered by the University.
