Coffee, as many of us know, was introduced by the British in the cooler climes of India. We imbibed this refreshing tradition when we grew coffee in our very first plantation - the Shankara Kudige estate, amongst the rolling hills of the Western Ghats - as far back as 1870. After spending over a century perfecting the art and science of growing coffee, we were ready to share our work with the world. We incorporated Coffee Day Global Limited in 1993.
Soon after, we opened our first café in Bengaluru in 1996. Ours was a new vision—one where coffee was more than just any beverage. It was a cup that brought coffee aficionados, budding coffee drinkers, and well, friends together over a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Today, our subsidiary Coffee Day Global Limited runs the largest café chain in India—spread across 200 cities.
Officially, we are Café Coffee Day. To our biggest customers—our young fan base—who visit us everyday, we’re simply CCD.
Our forays into diverse businesses are marked by the same passion and pragmatic thinking with which we started Café Coffee Day. Our portfolio includes technology parks, logistics, hospitality, real estate and financial services.
