">The Academy was started at the hands of the then Governor of Karnataka HE Smt Ramadevi on 11”‘ December 2000. The objectives of the Academy are to unfold the innate potentials of children, broaden their vision, add wings to their dreams and give direction to their thoughts & ideas. It is also to inculcate moral, social, spiritual and human values and make them bold to face challenges. Emphasis is on creativity and to have healthy mind in a sound body.
We have been conducting 'Makkala Mela‘, 'Makkalotsav', 'Hiriyarondige Kiriyaru', 'l’rbhasha Kavigoshti' and ‘Quiz on Health, Hygiene & Nutrition‘. Our summer camps are most sought after. Seminars on Art of Public Speaking, Awareness of Environment, Teen age Problems, Suicides in children, developing Leadership Qualities, Family Values and Examination Fears are well appreciated. We also undertake parent education programmes and tips for grand parenting. "Magu Nee Nagu" - Complete care of malnourished children and "Swalpa Keli Makkaligaagi" - popular programmes are broadcast in series through AIR, Dharwad ‘ giving solutions for problems of parents regarding child welfare. The academy jointly with RK Foundation plans regular medical checkups of children who were under the care of ICDS programme belonging to 3 slum areas of the city every 15 days once along with the care takers for counseling.
A State level award is given to a child who has achieved excellence in a given field like painting, drawing, dance, music, marshal arts and swimming etc. We have also instituted Best Outgoing Student Trophy in more than 10 schools in Dharwad. We also manage a pre primary school, 'Tu|asi' with innovative teaching methodology with emphasis on creativity through play way methods. There is no punishment in our school. We have a creche of a class which is truly a ‘Home Away from Home‘. It is a boon to the working parents.
We have members drawn from various fields of expertise viz. pediatrician, psychiatrist, psychologist, gynecologist, child development specialist, nutritionist, educationist, advocate, artist, engineer and HRD experts.
