Amidst the small shards of mountains engulfed in a candy of cloud and blacktop road spiralling around its endless curves, strapped in camping gears and a head full of dreams is the Chiko Adventures. Founded in 2016 by 9 young men from Ukhrul district,Manipur. Chiko Adventures carries with it the ideals and passions that resound with the hopes of thousands of common people from the district.
Coming from a land covered in lush greeneries, skies exploding with stars and fresh breezes that could heal, and to see that no authorities were putting in a tad effort to sustain and develop it further, these young men could no longer take the silence. It was then that the team decided to come together to harness tourism and promote ecotourism in Ukhrul district with fundings from their own pocket.
The founding ideas behind CHIKO is to promote Ukhrul District as tourist hub by identifying and promoting unexplored destinations alongside its already renowned tourist spots such as Shirui Kashong, Mangsor Cave, etc. It is the team’s belief that once the district can promote itself as a tourist spot, tourism itself can drastically help improve the economic upliftment of many. Reason being, once a community is able identify its tourist spots and attract tourist (local and non-local), they can churn livelihoods by way of providing home stay, hotels, tourist guide, etc.
CHIKO team’s primary mission is to promote and raise awareness about adventure tourism and eco friendly tourism. The team is concentrated in building relationships with village heads and youth and help them promote community tourism as well as ecotourism.

*ACTIVITY*
Activities of CHIKO Adventures includes:
- Group trekking, camping, cycling at tastefully selected tourist-potential locations
- Renting out Camping equipments at minimal rates (tents, sleeping bags, mountain bikes) to encourage people to take up adventure activities
- Attending adventure trainings and events
