Experience nature and celebrate diversity, the thought itself leaves profound impact on any human mind. Being part of the eco system and most intelligent has the most responsibility to preserve and protect it. Instead humans today are the one who are destroying it, beyond repair.
A small initiative to listen to nature, understand life in its completeness and realise symbiosis between various forms of life began a decade ago closer to Thippagondanahalli Reservoir, off. Bangalore – Magadi Road at Singadasanahalli, just 40 kms away from busy Bangalore streets and has now started bearing fruits. This is ‘Chiguru Eco-space – a certified organic farm and Bio-diversity education centre’.
Spread over 10 acres, Chiguru Eco-space is a rich Bio-diversity farm tucked away from the hassles of urban chaos. Located in a valley between 2 rustic villages and beautiful scenic views, Chiguru has wide variety of natural and domesticated flora and fauna. A family of nearly extinct native Indian Punganur cattle, Goat, Sheep, Poultry and Fishes find their home in Chiguru amidst over 150 species of trees and plants. Chiguru is also involved in production of seeds of native varieties of vegetable and food grains and is part of the first ever farmer producer seed company – ‘Sahaja Seeds’. This unique chemical free natural farm is being officially launched for visitors from 9th April 2017.
As part of its inauguration, Chiguru Eco-space is also organising ‘Anveshana – 2017, a 3 day residential hands-on farming and Bio-diversity awareness workshop for children between the age 9 and 15’. The objectives of this workshop is to re-establish the bonding between nature and urban young minds, pulling them away from the ever increasing grip of modern electronic gadgets or the glamorous (and contagious) mall culture and provide them an opportunity to witness and experience simplicity as well as little wonders of nature.
