Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi came in 1971.
This colonial style building is situated on the right bank of the river Chambal and commands a magnificent view. Its spacious rooms are graced with elegant period furniture and most open out into large verandahs. All bedrooms are air-conditioned with attached modern bathrooms, and are equipped with Flat Screen HDTVs and telephones with national and international access. The drawing and dining rooms are very eye catching, with many personal affects of the royal family. Most rooms have a pleasing river view.
The well maintained lawns and terrace gardens add to the style of gracious living. An abundance of trees and general greenery in the riverside environ at Brijraj Bhawan Palace ensures the presence of a wide variety of birds. In fact, guests are tempted to spend the entire winter day soaking in the sun, relaxing, and doing nothing here
