Bodylove Stretching was founded in the Netherlands in 1988 by Pala. It is based on the teachings of Jonathan Shaw and Arthur Balaskas.
Stretching is part of yoga but in the classes we offer many more elements than in a traditional yoga class, in particular partner exercises and manipulations. These manipulations were invented and developed by Jonathan and his son Quentin in the early 1990's in Amsterdam.
BS is about the expansion of your consciousness by waking up and observing the feelings of the body. And it is about liberating blocked energies in the body that often manifest as pain.
It is not about mastering a prescribed set of exercises or perfecting so called "end positions". The exercises are only a means to the end of experiencing your own body and "end positions" are totally subjective anyway.
The focus in the classes is neither the school nor the teacher; it is you and your experience of your body.
