Founded in 1986, the Institute is the result of the BLDE Association's recognition of the need for quality technical education in the country. To achieve this objective, it has striven hard to create an environment and infrastructure that enables it to produce qualified, practical engineers who are ready to face the challenges in the Industries. Affiliated to the Directorate of Technical Education, Bangalore, Govt of Karnataka and recognized by AICTE, New Delhi, the Institute offers a range of courses, undergraduate. The focus has been on enabling students to become complete engineers rather than mere technical graduates. The students are thus encouraged and guided in their learning process through group discussions and one-to-one interaction with a core group of experts in technical education. This is complemented by the finest facilities encompassing lecture rooms, workshops, laboratories and a well-stocked library, besides a high end computing infrastructure. The Institute also has strong partnerships with professional bodies such as the Institution of Engineers, IEEE, ISTE etc.
