Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad

India is the largest democracy in the world and certainly amongst the more mature ones. If India has to change, we need politics of development. To bring in this change, we need youth who are committed to politics and willing to embrace public life with a view to strengthen the democratic fabric of our nation.

To further this cause where in students of this entire country could be sensitized about entering into public life or embracing active politics with the objective of nation building Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad (Indian Student Parliament) was initiated by Rahul V. Karad in 2011. The innovative platform Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad or BCS as it known as is a non-political platform to sensitize and harness the power of youth mainly the General Secretaries, Joint Secretaries and socially active & politically sensitive students from 25000 colleges of more than 400 universities in the Country. It is in a way is a classroom that provides political coaching to nearly 10,000 students in the age group of 18-25. It provides lessons on the functioning of a democracy and encourages the students to serve the society by entering public life and assuming leadership roles. It is aimed at enhancing the roles and relevance of youth in democratic institutions like political parties, social organizations, colleges, universities and Public institutions. We are trying to create an environment so that committed, educated and spirited youth participate in democratic polity and contribute in evolving a healthy democratic system.

Connect socially/politically active youth of India at one platform for common purpose of strengthening democracy and to inculcate a national vision.
Create in them respect for politics, political leaders, democracy and its institutions and train them for future leadership of the country.
Raise their awareness, intellect and sensitivity to social & political issues, encourage and motivate students to embrace public life in service to the nation.
Promote national and regional understanding, intercultural dialogue and diversity of ideas and practices.
Contribute to the personal skills development of Indian youth.
Provide a forum in which young people can express their own opinions, interact with tallest personalities from different spectrums of life, take pledge to uphold democratic values, pass resolutions for social good and submit it to the government for action.
Create energetic ‘ambassadors’ of democracy to replicate the democratic values and influence their peers who are not participants of BCS.


Vision-
To create most ethical, spirited and capable public leadership in the country, who will shape our policies, make our democracy vibrant and bridge the chasm between the way we are being governed today and the way we actually want to be governed.

All the resolutions will be complied as the 'Declaration of the Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad' and shall be submitted to the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, UNESCO headquarters in Paris, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Maharashtra, all the states of India, and other concerned bodies of policy making.
All speeches and views on the issues discussed at the said Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad will be recorded and compiled into suitable formats to maintain proper archives so that they can used for propagation of democratic values.
The student delegates participating in the sansad shall become the Alumni of Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad.
A common internet forum will be created exclusively, where the delegates will be able to converse and exchange their views.
