“OVERVIEW OF BHARAKHARA”

BHARAKHARA is a small village in the RAJPUR block of BUXAR district in BIHAR state. It comes under BARUPUR Panchayat. It belongs to Patna division. It is located at a distance of 22K.M. from district BUXAR. It is 500 meters west of the BUXAR SASARAM main road. The main occupations of the villagers are farming and animal husbandry. The land of this village is fertile. People of this village produce PADDY, WHEAT, OAT, GRAIN, ETC. there are many castes in this village. There is temple of goddess MAA KALI to the east of the village and a temple of lord SHIVA at the centre of the village. There is a HANUMAN temple to the west of the village. There is a GRAVE for Muslims to north of this village. There are many shops in this village. The people of this village are peaceful and happy. They celebrate festivals peacefully and happily. There is a CANAL to the west of village and also a MERE to the north side of the village. Many languages are spoken in this village like BHOJPURI, HINDI, ENGLISH, and URDU . The total population of this village is 1037 (male 518, female 519) according to 2011 report.

“HISTORY OF BHARAKHARA”

It is said that about 250-300 years ago the area which is now called BHARAKHARA was inhabited by a few MUSLIM and HARIJAN families. They used to cut trees and they used to live a miserable life. Around the same time a few (BRAMHANS) from GAHMAR village of GHAZIPUR district migrated to this place for resettlement purpose after having been hit by flood. They found this place favourable to lead a life. They started to cut trees and cultivated some agricultural land for their livelihood. Sometime they visited to their initial village GAHMAR and informed their relatives about the good things of this place. By and by another set of few BRAHMANS came here and settled down. After that they encouraged people from different spheres of life to migrate to the area and to form a strong community. Their lifestyle was good that’s why many more people migrated to the place. Thus they managed a number of residents in the area. Later on they named the village as “BHARAKHARA”. The Meaning of this name is still a puzzle.

“SHOPS OF BHARAKHARA”

There are many shops in this village for daily needs items. Which provide all the village specific items like VEGETABLE, SUGAR, OIL, SWEETS, FRUITS, RICE, FLOUR, CANDAL, SALT. MR. SUNIL GUPTA runs the oldest shop in the village. His father used to run the shop in his time. It was established 30 years ago. This shop is situated at the centre of the village. The second General Store which was established in 2007 is situated to the west of village, which is run by MR. ANIL GUPTA. He is a fantastic sweet maker of the village. In any party of the village like MARRIAGE, BIRTHDAY he is invited for cooking and making sweets. He learned how to cook from his father. His father’s name is MR. NAGINA SHAH. There is another sweet maker in the village MR. MANOJ GUPTA. Who is also a fantastic sweet maker and now he has a new General Store in the village which was opened in 2015. MR. ANIL GUPTA and MR. MANOJ GUPTA both are renowned sweet makers of this area. Both have got a good knowledge of PUNI, BUNIYA, SABJI, CHHENA, KHOWA, CHATNI, PULAW, MEAT, and SAMOSA. Third and Fourth General Store is also situated to west of the village. One is run by MD. ISLAM DARJI and another is run by BACHA JEE SHAH in the Muslim Muhalla. There are two another shops beside the main road. MD NASIRUDIN and MD KYAMUDIN both have their own shop. Both sell PAAN and some other items like BISCUIT, CIGRATE, and CHOCOLATE. There is a famous SILAE CENTER in this village MD KUBAN DARJI runs this shop. He sells clothes for children as well. He is a famous tailor in this area. His father LATE MD ROJID DARJI used to run this shop. He was a very famous tailor in this area. He was known as BHULLU DARJI. The SILAE CENTER was established in 1870 by his great grand father LATE MD GURMALI DARJI, in the ancient time clothes were stitched by hand. There is an electronic shop owned by one of the villager which is situated in BHALUHA, and is named FAIYAJ BATTERY & ELECTRONIC WORKS. MD SALIM runs this shop. He sells BATTERY, INVERTER, SOLAR, FAN, EMERGANCY LIGHT and many electronics things. This shop was established in 2004.

“RELIGIOUS INSTITUTE OF BHARAKHARA”

There are many temples in this village. As per the HINDU living pattern every village has a temple of goddess kali to the east of the village. Thus there is KALI MATA MANDIR on the connecting road of the village and there is HANUMAN MANDIR to the west side of the village. People of this village are religious, that’s why there is a LORD SHIVA temple at the centre of this village. There is a GRAVE for Muslims to the north of the village.

"EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE OF BHARAKHARA"

There is a MIDDLE school in this village. It is situated beside the BUXAR KOCHAS main road. There are two Anganwadis in this village. 1st is situated to the east of the village and 2nd is situated to the north of the village. Villagers are very aware about education, so they send their children to these educational institutes. There is a college in this village named “SWAMI VIVEKANAND SENIOR SECONDARY HIGH SCHOOL” which is situated beside the POKHARA of the village. There are two coaching centres in this village. The oldest coaching centre is run by MR. GANGA SAGAR. He is a very good teacher from the village. Second coaching centre is run by MR. RAMESH KUMAR PASWAN. A few decades ago MR. BRIJBHUSHAN UPADHYAY used to teach the students. He was fantastic teacher from the village. This village has produced some good students who are performing marvellously in their respective fields.

Barupur is the gram panchayat of this village. There are many villages in this panchayat. A mukhiya is selected in the panchayat who runs all the villages of this panchayat.

BUXAR, the district to which this village belongs is the nearest town to the village. This is the main market for the villagers. There are some small markets near this village. BHALUHAN is situated at a distance of 3 K.M. from this village. People of this village go to BHALUHAN for marketing and there is SARENJA market near this village. It is situated at a distance of 5 K.M. from this village. These are the small markets for the villagers.

BHARAKHARA is well connected to the main road. The village has its own bus stop, from where you can find buses for BUXAR, KOCHAS SASARAM etc. You can also find buses for TATA, BOKARO, RANCHI etc. by advance booking from the village.

CHAUSA is the nearest railway station for the village. This is a small railway station, very few trains stay there. That’s why people have to go to BUXAR railway station for catching express and long distance trains. BUXAR railway station is situated at the distance of 23K.M. from the village.

“HOW TO REACH BHARAKHARA”

BHARAKHARA is well connected with BUXAR KOCHAS main road. Anyone can reach there by catching a KOCHAS or SASARAM bus from BUXAR or by catching a bus going to BUXAR from KOCHAS. If you want to reach by train, you can come at CHAUSA RAILWAY STATION after that you will have to catch a bus going to KOCHAS. By your own van you can come direct from KOCHAS or BUXAR only in 45 minutes. The road condition is very good and there are many buses in quick frequency.

There is no doctor facility neither private nor government in this village. The village has produced doctors who are working in different parts of the country but the village has no its own doctor. Villagers have to go TARANPUR, BHALUHAN, SARENJA and RAJPUR for treatment. These villages are situated near of the village.

There is no hospital in this village. Patients have to go near by hospitals in TARANPUR, BHALUHAN, SARENGA and RAJPUR for treatment.
