BDS Maritime Academy is a registered Pvt. Ltd. Academy to run the marine courses. This academy has been awarded 2001-2008 certification. It is in service since 2011. It is situated near K.C College at Karyam Road, Nawanshehar Distt. SBS Nagar.144514

BDS has a placement cell to interact with the leading international reputation among the shipping companies. These companies are conducting interviews to select over trainees for their requirements. The demand for marine personal is gradually increasing every year and it is expected to increase by 20% every year in the world wide ship yard.

Merchant Navy:-
The merchant navy mainly deals in transporting cargo and occasionally passengers by sea. It is different fleet composed of vessels, cargo liners, tankers, bulk carriers, car carriers, containers as well as the other special type vessels. Merchant Navy is back bone of international trade carrying cargo across the globe for import and export.

The merchant navy career options mainly includes the following categories

1. Navigation Officer 2. Marine Engineer Officer 3. Crew Member to assist the officers 4. Specialized Officers 5. Saloon Officers

Shipping companies position work on for a period of 6-9 Months. After finishing contract period of 6-9 months officers can enjoy leave and whenever they want to join back, the company will absorb them immediately.
