Sital-Shasthee is an important festival among several others that must be placed here. This festival which marks the auspicious marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, has completed apparently more than thousand of years according to folklore. Dhanu-Yatra is another local mythological festival which is celebrated with great spirit since several decades in this town. The festival notes the victory of Lord Krishna in his younger times along with his elder brother Lord Balaram, over the tyrant Mathura Emperor and his own Uncle king 'Kamsa' and releasing their imprisoned parents thereafter.
