Bagh Villas Jungle Camp & Spa

Bagh Villas is a tented camp located on the edge of the Kanha National Park. Twelve Shikar tents are laid out along the edge of a small lake created to catch all the rainwater that falls on the 14 acres of land that has been transformed into a small oasis from being paddy fields just a few years ago.

This is a result of an enduring friendship between Azad, Isky and Goverdhan who have known each other for over 30 years. They have shared a common love for the forests of India and are part of well-known non-profit organizations like Azad India Foundation, Prakratik Society and Tiger Watch, all engaged in welfare work aimed at improving the lives of the underprivileged rural communities with a particular emphasis on environment conservation.

Bagh Villas was conceptualized by Goverdhan who along with his wife Usha runs a very successful Jungle Camp on the edge of Ranthambhroe National Park in Rajasthan called Khem Villas.

At Bagh Villas you will be looked after by Akhilesh Nair (Umesh) and his lovely Indonesian wife Muliyana Chandra Devi (Lia).

Visiting Kanha is not only a wildlife experience but also an amazing cultural journey. Here time comes to a standstill and you will feel like you are transported back in time. Villages are still magical with their mudwalled houses and sloping tiled roofs. Fields are still ploughed using bullocks and paddy is put in by hand. The local art and craft and culture are to be experienced.

Short bicycle rides can be organised to experience rural India in an unobtrusive way interacting with local people and learning about their ways.
