Babu Jagjivan Ram Trust (Regd.) for social Development

Babu Jagjivan Ram Trust (regd.) for Social Development is a Private, non profitable, Residential Voluntary organization. It is established in July 2004 with the avowed objective of providing total rehabilitation services to the handicapped persons especially for the education of Hearing Handicapped and Mentally Challenged Students.
It is registered under Indian Trust Act and working silently and unobtrusively with total commitment and dedication for socio-economic upliftment and rehabilitation of handicapped person.
It was founded by Dr. K.R.Arya, a reputed ENT Surgeon. He has worked in National Fertilizers Limited, Nangal (Punjab) as a Deputy C.M.O. and finally resigned this post on Oct 2003.
He has dedicated his life for welfare of marginalized population of the society especially Handicapped. Smt. Meira Kumar, Hon'ble Lok Sabha Speaker, Parliament of India is the Chief Patron of this institution.
The NGO has a firm conduction that with proper education and vocational training, the deaf can become useful, productive and self reliant member of the society.
The NGO therefore, established Babu Jagjivan Ram Model School for Deaf and Mentally Challenged in 2009 with just 9 children on his rolls.
Babu Jagjivan Ram Model School has made steady progress both in term of quality and quantity. It has carried out a niche for itself in the field of special education in Himachal Pradesh.
This organization is situated in it own building i.e. Arya Estate at Mehatpur, Una- Nangal Highway.
There are huge demand of Special Educators and other rehabilitation Professionals not only in Himachal Pradesh but in all over India. This institution has therefore started B.J.R. International Institute for Social Rehabilitation, A Training College for Teachers of the Deaf.
