Athikkattukulangara

Athikkattukulangara is a village in Palamel panchayat. Palamel is a village in the tehsil/mandal of Bharanicavu in the Alappuzha district of Kerala. Palamel village is situated on the conjuction of Alappuzha, Kollam and Pathanamthitta districts. Ironically Palamel is a place in Noorand Panchayat and Nooranad is in Palamel Panchayat. Educationally palamel Village has got three higher secondary schools and Nooranad Post office is situated in Palamel village. Erumakkuzhy is one of the oldest muri(kara) in palamel village.There are two Public Markets in palamel Village, one in Noorand and the other in Adikkatukulangara. The Lower Primary school at Erumakkuzhy situtaed near Nooranad Junction is the oldest educational institution in this village. Almost all the people now living has in one way or other connected to this institution. In athikkattukulangara there are many goverment, semi goverment and private instititions, offices are situated, including federal Bank, North gramin bank, akshaya centre, muthoot fincorp, alappuzh sahakarana bank, hidayathul islam LP school, arabic college, smitha polyclinic etc. Athikkattukulangara is the east most place in the alappuzha district. Athikkattukulangara is the place of one of the biggest holy mosques in kerala, athikkattukulangara Jumaath mosque, it is situated near to KP road. State highway 5 is passing through our village too.
