Apparswami Temple is a Hindu temple built in honour of Apparswami, a 19th century Saivite saint. The temple, situated on Royapettah High Road, is built around his tomb over which a Shivalinga was set up by his chief devotee Chidambara Swamy. This is how the temple of Appar Swamygal has come into being. The main deity of the temple is Shiva and Devi in the form of Vishalakshi Amman.
The other shrines or sub-temples are Sri Jaya Vinayagar, Sri Maha Vishnu, Sri Dakshinamurthy, Sri Kala Bhairavar, Sri Jaya Durga, Sri Vinayagar, Sri Virabhadrar, Tayunmanwar, Sekkizar, Nayanmars, Sri Shanaishcharar and Snake Gods.
