Anga Northeast

Anga northeast serves as a Catalyst always in constant flux to initiate multilayered hybrid practices. The space and its initiatives offer a connective platform for dialogue cutting across, artistic, technological, ethnic and ecological modes of knowledge gathering. The space aims for collaborative experiments in public domain with communities, ecologically sustainable and aesthetically multilayered. The Anga collective focuses on culturing out the connections to excavate the problems of contemporary cultural production.
The physical location of the space is the foot of a hill, in the periphery of Guwahati city. Realized in 2010 the space is deeply raw and unpolished. We started in four half done rooms and with the time it came out as a studio space surrounded by vibrant human settlement and deteriorating ecology. It has initiated aesthetic response in public domain from the time of its beginning. The collective connects itself with the critical tendencies of the contemporary art.
The space provides the conditions to work in a wide variety of forms, connected with the immediate time and space.
