ALUR Kingdom

Alur Kingdom is currently under the leadership of His Majesty, Philip Olarker Rauni III. Alur Kingdom is among the top six recognized Kingdoms in Uganda and also one of the oldest. Its vision is to improve quality of life for the people in Alur Kingdom. Its mission is to mobilize resources both locally and internationally to support community projects in the Alur Kingdom.

The predominant ethnic group in the Kingdom is Alur. The Alur forms the larger part of Luo groups who live in Achol, Lango, Arua District and Northern Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The Kingdom is blessed with rich fertile land favorable for large scale farming and good climatic conditions capable of supporting wide range of agricultural activities in the Kingdom.

The Kingdom is currently organizing a youth convention scheduled to take place from 18th - 20th December, 2013 in Nebbi District.

The theme of the convention is "UNITED FOR PROSPERITY" and the goal of the convention is " TO MOBILIZE AND DIRECTLY SENSITIZE 10,000 ALUR YOUTHS TO EMBRACE SOCIAL AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT IN ORDER TO REDUCE UNEMPLOYMENT AND PROMOTE ECONOMIC PROSPERITY IN THE KINGDOM"
