Beautiful place in the Calicut District of Kerala state, India.It is one of the major town in Puthuppadi Panchayath, situted Eastern Side Puduppadi panchayath.The Name Adivaram means Downhill, the valley of western ghat (Wayanad Ghat/Karinthandan Ghat), 45 km east of Kozhikode (Calicut) City. It lies on the Calicut - Wayanad route (National Highway 766). Pottikkai, Muppathekra,Chippilitode , Maruthilavu,Kanaladu,Nooramthodu,Valliyadu and Kalakkunnu are some places including Adivaram.Most of the travelers sees Adivaram as a Rest place. The Noorul Huda Masjid and Madrassa ,Nusrathul Islam Juma masjid and madrassa , Knaladu Temple, Statue of Jesus, Thottathil Temple, Sunniyya Masjid, Salafi Masjid are the majour religional center in Adivaram.It is the starting point of Kurishinte vazhi, it conducts every good friday.Adivaram surrounding with Rubber Estates and Paddy fields.Adivaram is an agricultural area with a large portion of its population being farmers. Cocunut and Rubber are the major produces. A L P School, Cresent English Medium and U P school are some of the educational institutes here. Adivaram is well connected to its surrounding areas via road transport. Bus services to nearby towns like Kozhikode, Koyilandy, Thamarassery, Sulthan Bathery, Mukkam,Kodenchery etc. are available regularly. The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has a bus stand at Adivaram. All private buses operate from nearby Canara Bank. Nearest airport, the Calicut International Airport is 75 km away, while the Kozhikode Railway Station is 45 km away. Many tourism hot spots are located around the town. Thusharagiri Falls is situated 6 km from the town.

History
The History of Adivaram starts before British Rule ,It is an historically important land that saw the fleeing of British, the great march of Tipu Sultan,Pazhassi Raja and a mass migration to the area in the past.

Culture
The people are socially and economically good.Adivaram is the native place of the national and state winner of Athletics Jamsheena Ashraf. The Wayanadu Churam, a hill highway with several hairpin bends which offers a scenic drive, became famous all over Kerala as a result of repeated references to it in the films Vellanakalude Nadu and T. P. Balagopalan M.A. by comedy actor Kuthiravattam Pappu.
