Adimalathura is a small village situated in the coastal belt of Arabian Sea in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala State in India. The village called Adimalathura is one of the natural and beautiful location, whereby many people around the world regularly visit to enjoy the beauty of Nature, sunrise and sets and rocks which is covered by the Arabian sea. It is a gift of nature as the sea evacuated back a long time since, where this village was emerged. The geographical structure of this small village itself notifies the beauty as it is surrounded by sea, river, hill and rocks. A popular grotto called "SILUVAMALA" means " The Mount of Cross" is made up of rocks nearby the sands of beach over the hill. Since it is a holy treasure of the poor and sick where thousands of pilgrims flow beyond religion, caste and creed to feel the blessings of the sacred eternal power. As a result this village has two churches. Sometimes people call this village as the "heaven of festivals", as it celebrates all kind of religious and national festivals throughout the year, one after another. Traditionally people from this village belong to fisherman community and 99% of population are belonging to Christianity. New generation of this village has grown to the tempo of world and as a result, people of this village are employed in different countries around the world. The youngsters of this generation are gifted with enormous talent in sports and other extracurricular activities. They serve in different fields of this society. In addition, this small village called Adimalathura witnesses a huge influx of natives and foreign legions to enjoy this gift of almighty. The location of this village is in the tops of a vast undersea submarine mountain range, in the Arabian Sea. The land of Adimalathura encompass a territory spread over roughly 2 kilometers, making it one of the most dispersed natures in the world in geographic terms. It features thousands of shelters of which more than 10000 are inhabited. Traditionally it was an Island, from where the ancient Travancore kingdom ruled and where the palace was located in its region. Adimalathura is a small village in both population and area. The name Adimalathura may derive from the Malayalam word which encompasses the meaning of “A village under the hill”. The word Adi (means, related to Malayalam dictionary) means "Under", and Mala (Malayalam dictionary) means "Hill" and the last syllable Thura (means, related to Malayalam dictionary), “Village”.
None of the names are mentioned in any literature, but classical Malayalam texts dating back in church records mention the name "Adimalathura". The local language of Adimalathura which is now called as MALAYALAM could be the mixture of Tamil and Malayalam languages, that is widely spoken by the old generation whereas, new generation people has acknowledged the importance of proper language used to verbalize the exact language. A layer of humus in thick forms the top layer of soil on the islands. Below the humus layer are sandstone, followed by sand and then fresh water. Due to high levels of salt in the soil near the beach, vegetation is limited there to a few trees such as Coconut trees, flowering plants, and platform of grass lawns. In the interior of this village more vegetation such as tapioca and banana plants grows. Coconut palms, the national tree are able to grow almost everywhere in this village and are integral to the lifestyle of the population. The limited vegetation and land is supplemented by the abundance of marine life. The water side by this village are abundant in rare species of biological and commercial value, with tuna fisheries and Mackerel Sardine, Squid and Prawn. Being traditionally one of the main commercial resources of the Southern coastal region,Adimalathura has an amazing diversity of sea life, with Corals and over 2,000 species of fish, ranging from Reef fish to Reef Sharks, Moray Eels, and a wide variety of Rays and Shellfish.

The Arabian Sea has a great effect on the climate of this village by acting as a heat buffer, absorbing, storing, and slowly releasing the tropical heat. The temperature of this village ranges between 24 °C (75.2 °F) and 36 °C (96.8 °F) throughout the year. Although the humidity is relatively high, the constant cool sea breezes keep the air moving and therefore heat mitigated. The weather in Adimalathura is affected by the large landmass of Coastal belt of KERALA and TAMILNADU. The presence of this landmass causes differential heating of land and water. These factors set off a rush of moisture-rich air from the Arabian Sea over the Southern coastal region, resulting in the tropical monsoon. Two seasons dominate this village weather: the dry season associated with the winter and the rainy season brought the end of JUNE to the end of AUGUST which brings strong winds. However, the weather patterns of this village do not always conform to the monsoon patterns of South Kerala.
