Adbhar :Ancient Tempal Vedh Shala

Adbhar(ASHTADWAR, recently) is an ancient town in central state of chhatisgarh,India. Mostly known for its Hindu Godess temple. With excellent samples of ancient architecture this entire town is of historical value.It was in existance since 700AD (Gupta dynasty) with about 126 ponds in coagulated
manner.The place is one of the fourty-five sites of historical value spotted by the Central Historical & Cultural Department of India.
Basic Historical highlights of the town include:
1. Glorious Ashtabhuji Temple which is more than 1300 years! old with four basic parts namely SANCTUM, ANTARALA, MANDAPA and MUKHMANDAPA. Unique features include SOUTH-FACED(DAKSHIN-MUKHI) LIFE SIZE ICON of Ashtabhuji, A rare BRAHMA'S STATUE(2nd of its kind after Pushkar,Rajasthan) and a Jain statue believed to be Hindu as well of Devgun Guru.
2. A Copper-plate of a King called NannaRaja and his father Tivaraja is saved at Guru Ghasidas museum, Raipur stating a state declaration from capital of Sirpur regarding the tax payment for the citizens in Sanskrit.
3. Books of EXACT SCIENCES IN SANSKRIT were collected by american mathematician David Edwin Pingree(in his Census of exact sciences) from Mr Kunjram Brahmin. these books are:1.Lagna-Chandrika 2.Arthaprakasha 3.Tatva-Pratipajataka 4.Mayurchitraka(incomplete) 5. Panchangadipika(manuscript). All these books are related to particular fields of studies and signify Ashtadwar(Adbhar)'s participation and connection during the ancient Indian times..
