Academy of the People for Sports

The Academy of the People for Sports founded in 2015 with the vision to get recognized as a regional center of excellence for the development of high performance sportsperson. It also made a mission of its own to create an innovative and excellent elite sports program that engages athletes / students in positive behavior and active learning, which culminates in the promotion of an athlete / student’s fully sporting, vocational and academic potential covering the entire spectrum of sports disciplines, and functions as an apex body to promote and advance the practice of Sports and the related activities and disciplines in Gujarat and Ahmedabad.

Among the aims and objects of the Academy of the People for Sports are:

* To encourage and promote for the pursuit of excellence in the field of ‘Sport’;
* To promote the local & national Policy on Sport Education of the Govt. of India;
to be a positive role model & help children to develop good sportsmanship to teach youth how to put winning and losing in perspective to bring all sportsmen under one roof of Ahmedabad and its surrounding areas.
* To develop a lifetime commitment to sports and personal fitness.
* To offer the Govt. of India, the local Governments and other local bodies, the views of sportsmanship in co-operation with other professional bodies in regard to all the matters pertaining to ‘Sports’.
* To encourage and promote the applications of Sports for development of Youth for the betterment of physical, Emotional & Social skills in organised and un-organised sectors of national economy.
* To institute and establish Professorships, Fellowships, Studentships, Scholarships, Awards and other benefactions.
* To interact with Professional Sports Bodies in India for the development of Sports.
The Academy is in process of registration under the Societies Registration Act 1860 and is an autonomous institution supported partly by the like-minded people.
