The Aashish Khan School of World Music has been inspired by the Sarode Legend Ustad Aashish Khan. A first time initiative to pass on the tradition of Miyan Tansen by the Ustad to a young and interested India. The institution follows the traditional values of imparting musical education set by Baba Allauddin Khan, grandfather and guru of Ustad Aashish Khan. The school adheres to the authentic teaching style of Maihar Senia Gharana founded by Baba Allauddin in Maihar, Madhya Pradesh.

Ustad Aashish Khan, with his vision of creating an universal music, has traveled throughout the globe and collaborated with artistes and orchestras of top calibre, including John Barham, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Charles Lloyd, John Handy, Alice Coltrane, Philadelphia String Quartet.
He even formed his own Indo-jazz band "Shanti" in the 1960s, a pioneering project which was a great success.

Inspired by such a vivid perception of music, the school holds classes for both Indian and Western Music, taught by reputed and internationally acclaimed musicians.

Ustad Aashish Khan will be conducting regular workshops for the students during his visits to India.
