The 67th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress, Mysuru invites Practicing Pharmacists, Pharmaceutical Scientists, Academics, Researchers and Pharmaceutical Industry leaders from all over the country to delve in to the issue of working towards the best possible roles which Pharmacists should play to realize the vision of a “Healthy India-Swasth Bharat”.
With the development of specific and potent new drugs, from both synthetics and biologicals, the emphasis of the Pharmacist’s responsibility has moved substantially towards the utilization of scientific knowledge in the proper use of modern medicines and the protection of the public against that are inherent in their use.

Pharmacists play leadership roles in Community Pharmacy, Hospital Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Industry, Regulatory Control and Drug Management, Academic Training of other health workers and research. In all these fields, their aim is to ensure optimum drug therapy, both by contributing to the preparation, supply and control of medicines and associated products, and by providing information and advice to those who prescribe or use pharmaceutical products. The Pharmacist in India is no longer a mere dispenser of medicines, but has assumed a more crucial role in healthcare through effective management of th medicines and leadership in health care delivery of the country. The 67 Indian Pharmaceutical Congress will deliberate and present its vision to the nation, the role that pharmacists can play by improving patient and health system outcomes through advanced Pharmacy Practice and help develop a “Healthy India - Swasth Bharat” by the year 2025.
