2014 Lok Sabha Elections, District Kangra - HP

The objective of SVEEP Campaign in district Kangra, Himachal Pradesh is to make relevant information available and accessible to public and to make the coming Lok Sabha Elections more inclusive. If the campaign achieves universal coverage of the electorate in general and youth voters in particular it will be a great success for democracy in district Kangra. Under the banner of SVEEP, a series of outreach measures like rallies, processions, quiz competitions, film screening, declamation contests, street play, SMSes and helplines are being conducted to promote voting. The gaps in the electoral process like youth disconnect, urban apathy and subdued ethical voting campaign are being filled by SVEEP activities. Aim is to capture the imagination of voters particularly youth through social media to make them understand the strength of an individual’s vote thus enhancing their empowerment.
