History

The seventies was a phase in the history of India where economy had a sluggish growth rate for years together. It was during this period in 1972, in an era of socialist India, that‘The Western Group of Companies’ started off with its flagship company ‘Western Refrigeration Private Limited’.It was a dream come true for its founder Mr. Bhupinder Singh Machre.

In the backdrop of a restrictive economic regime, the company’s initial focus was fulfillment of needs in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning sector of large enterprises. From trading and imports of various types of metals, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning equipment and their spare parts, the company ‘Western Equipments’ eventually diversified into the fast growing Commercial Refrigeration Equipment Industry in an era of economic reforms and first phase of liberalization effected post year 1991.

Almost after 25 years of existence, in1997 ‘The Western Group’ installed its first plant for manufacturing Visi Coolers / Glass Door Merchandiser. Since then the group has not looked back.Its growth has been rapid and its diversification from trading to manufacturing commendable.
