More about Vedicure, The Holistic Health Centre

All living beings wish to spend happier and longer life. Human also forever wishes to enjoy physical amenities. But it is very true that to enjoy the comforts of life, it is essential to have a healthy mind and a healthy body. All materialistic comforts are futile if one does not have a healthy mind and a healthy body.

Since prehistoric times, man has been making consistent efforts to keep himself healthy. The preaching’s of
Ayurveda are also an important element in this progression. The prime objective of Ayurveda is to maintain the well-being of healthy individual and to alleviate ailment of suffering mankind.
‘Maharishi Sushruta’ has defined health as:
“Sama dosha dhatuh, sama agni malla kriya-
-Prassana atma indriya manah, Svasthya ityabhidiyatet”
“Sama” ‘dosha’ Balanced state of functioning elements of our body
‘dhatuh’ Balanced state of forming elements of our body
‘Agani kriya’ Adequate Metabolism
‘Malla kriya’ Proper elimination of body waste
“Prassana” ‘Atma’ Blissful state of spirit (atma)
‘Indriya’ Flawless Sensory and motor systems
‘Manah’ Cheerful mind
“Svasthya-ityabhidhiyate” When comprehended in an individual is called healthy

In this era of modernization medical science is also advancing swiftly. New technologies are being developed everyday to diagnose and treat the diseases. In such a scenario on the one hand present day physicians are becoming more and more dependent on pathological and radiological findings of the patient for diagnosis. On the other hand, in spite of relieving sufferings of the patient, he only attempts to rectify abnormalities of pathological reports. This has completely abstracted the objective of medical science and definition of ‘Health’ also seems to be meaningless.
In the chase of modernization, Ayurveda is losing its scientific/conceptual figure. Moreover nasty commercialization of Ayurveda is also affecting its credibility.
Many of us have different views about Ayurveda like-

Ayurveda is only a system of home remedies and herbal teas. Ayurveda is being incredibly-miraculous and expensive herbal drugs for obesity, alopecia and arthritis. Ayurveda is a system of massages or just dripping some oil on forehead.
These opinions about Ayurveda come from those ignorant people who never tried to get its real meaning. They feel their Ignorance is their knowledge. But the actual form of Ayurveda is much more magnanimous and methodical. Ayurveda is a well monitored and well documented system of being healthy. It is based on principles and calculation, and not merely a system of predictions. It has detailed description about Causes; Symptoms; Signs; Treatment; Prevention and Prognosis of the diseases.

Panchakarma comprises two of words ‘pancha’ meaning five; and karma meaning measures. Because of its importance and effectiveness Panchakarma has got significant place in all Ayurvedic Therapies and Procedures. It plays vital role in elimination of toxic matters from the body. It is postulated that the vitiated doshas and malas of body need to be eliminated before any specific treatment taken to cure the disease. No therapy works well if the proper purifying measures are not taken beforehand. ‘Purvakarma’ are the special preparatory procedures required to be administered before Panchakarma. ‘Paschatakarma’ are advised as post-therapeutic special diet regimens and precautions which are designed to restore digestive and absorptive capacity and to restore normal state of health.

Ahaar Chikitsa is based on ‘Pathya-apathya’ mentioned with disease descriptions. In simple words Ahaar Chikitsa describes details of diet, what to eat ‘Pathya’ and what to avoid ‘Apathya’ in particular disease condition. In all ancient ayurvedic texts, no section on any disease is complete unless the ‘Pathya-apathya’ is discussed. All eatables have their own medicinal qualities and curative values. Carrying out specific Pathya-apathya in conjunction with medications helped to cure the patients much faster.

Homoeopathy is another alternative system of medicine. The basic principle of homoeopathy, known as the “Similia Similibus Curenter” or “law of similar” or “let like be cured by like”. Although this principle is comparable to Ayurvedic concept of “vyadhi vipareetarthakaari chikitsa”, yet Homoeopathy is recognised as a different system of medicine because of its second basic principle “Minima Minimus”, it means smaller the dose, better the results. These principles were first stated by German physician Samuel Hahnemann in 1796. He constituted and published that, “A medicine in minimum doses cures all such symptoms or diseases which it is capable of producing in a healthy person when taken in large doses”. The curative power of a homoeopathic remedy depends upon its capacity to produce symptoms in healthy individual. The “Materia Medica” of homoeopathy is nothing but proving of medicines on healthy bodies. Therefore to select the right homoeopathic remedy, one should carefully note all symptoms said by patient and/or his attendants and then find which medicine in the “Materia Medica” produces all or most of these important symptoms. If he successfully finds out a similar medicine, then even minute doses of the same will cure the patient.

Nutreopathy represents two words “Nutreo” and “Pathy”. The word Nutreo denotes ‘Nourishment’ and Pathy denotes ‘way of treatment’. Theory of Nutreopathy is based on principle of “Nutri Supply Curenter”, that means treat the disease by providing nourishment. According to Nutreopathy, our body has its own mechanism to protect us against all types of diseases and also to eradicate diseases. Various deficiencies at cellular/organ level results in poor defence and subsequently occurrence of diseases. Specific organic/inorganic nutrition supplied to diseased cells/organ increases vitality and support defence mechanism to eradicate disease.

Integrated Physiotherapy is a concept of synergic use of latest physiotherapeutic techniques along with classical Ayurvedic Therapies in precise style for treating almost all rheumatologic disorders.
