Endo Venous Laser Ablation is a quick and effective Interventional Radiology procedure for the treatment of Varicose Veins , done under local anesthesia.
Varicose veins are bluish colored, worm like swellings in the legs. Varicose veins cause swelling of the legs, black discoloration of the skin, may cause pain in the legs and ulcers.
EVLT is an Intervention Radiology procedure by which a thin 1470 nm radial LASER fiber is introduced into the leg vein which is then ablated (closed) from the inside. The procedure can be combined with SCLERO THERAPY to ablate other veins of the leg.A sclerosant is injected into the damaged veins which subsequently closes the veins.EVLT completely eliminates surgery and there is minimal blood loss. Following the procedure a bandage or compression hose is placed on the treated leg and the patient is able to walk as well as to return to normal activities immediately after the procedure.
