Upper Valley School , Burua

Welcome to Upper Valley School , Burua. We are one of the pioneers of education in Burua, which is a small village located in the scenic upper valley area of Manali.
Upper Valley School was established in 1998 by Mr. Koyalu Ram Thakur to bring formal school education to his native village of Burua. The thought of starting a school occurred to him when he faced difficulties in dealing with some government formalities as he wasn’t proficient in English then. Upper Valley School was envisioned as the school that will bring literacy to the young generation of Burua and the neighbouring villages. The school started with a modest strength 16 students. Since then the school has grown in strength setting high standards of education in the district. The school is affiliated with the State Education Board , Himachal Pradesh providing quality education from Kindergarten to 10th class.
We believe that students learn best under an atmosphere that is open, caring and conducive to learning. And that, collaboration between students, parents, teachers and management can together build communities, strengthen educational opportunities and develop strong value systems. Though the school is based in a small hamlet at the foothills of the Himalayas the mission of the school is to make education relevant, meaningful and interesting so that our students are ready to meet the challenges of an ever changing global environment.
