Moreh is located on the Indo-Myanmar Road in the Chandel District about 70 km from the town of Chandel. This place gained prominence due to its strategic location on the border of the two countries.

Travellers can even go to Imphal, which is 110 km from Chandel. If visitors have a visa of Myanmar they can cross over and visit Tamu, just 5 km from the border, which is the commercial centre of Myanmar, like Moreh of Chandel.

There is a shopping plaza at Namphanglong, which is compared to the National Stadium Shopping Arcade of Bangkok and sells Chinese and Thai goods. The prices here are lesser than Bangkok. People interested in going on excursions can take conducted tours to cities like Mandlay and Kalimiew
