This school is among the first schools established in district Baramulla. It is located on the bank of river Jehlum in the Shahr-e-khaas (Old town) Barmulla. This catering area of the school mainly comprises of people who are financially unsound but are keen to avail quality education for their children.
Subsequent to the need of the hour, the school was proposed and henceforth established as
“model school” by the directions of the Hon’ble Minister for Education, Govt. of J&K and was
adopted by Govt. Degree College for Women, Baramulla.
The school, previously known by the name Govt. Boys Middle School, Bunglowbagh Baramulla,was renamed as “The College School” as per the directions of the Hon’ble Minister for Education, Govt. of J&K.
Moreover, four primary schools (Syed Karim, Azad Gunj, Malyarpora and Jamia) and one high school (Central High School, Baramulla) were clubbed with this school.
