Tangla

Tangla is a town and a town area committee in earlier Darrang district and present Udalguri district in the Indian state of Assam. It was a prominent business place Jute, Beetle Nut, Rice etc. and a host of small scale industries and centre of culture in erstwhile Darrang district. Mangaldai-Bhooteachang Road passes through Tangla Town connecting numerous Tea Estates along Indo-Bhutan Border. Tangla is famous for its weekly markets which is held on every Tuesday and Friday where vendors from the town itself and far flung areas come to trade in their Vegetables, Garments, Livestock etc.Tangla Town Committee, with population of about 17 thousand is Harisinga sub district's only town committee located in Harisinga sub district of Udalguri district in the state Assam in India. Total geographical area of Tangla town committee is 3.19 km2. Population density of the city is 5387 persons per km2.
