Sitanagaram, Sithanagaram also known as Seethanagaram is a Mandal in East Godavari district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Earlier it is under the constituency of Burugupudi. After the Reconciliation of constituencies before 2009 elections, the constituency had been changed to Rajanagaram.GeographySeethanagaram is located at. It has an average elevation of 13 metres (45 ft). Most of the villages in the mandal were banked by River Godavari. Agriculture is the major source of income in the district.It is located at 23 km from Rajahmundry City. The mandal has 17 REVENUE Villages and total 22 Villages with hamlets, all are agricultural lands. The main occupation was cultivation. Lands are rich fertile. Rice/Paddy is the main crop. People cultivates all variety of crops both food and commercial crops Rice,Grams,Mangoes,Tobacco,Maize etc.;and also so popular for cinema shootings which we can find in all vamsi movies and who loves godavari river. Muggulla Lord Shiva Temple also very famous.Subhramanya shasti is also famous.Famous tourist places like Papikondalu,Pudipalli,Perantala palli and Posamma gandi are located near to this place.Every day so many boats will start from Purushothapatnam with joyfull tourists. It's a film shooting spot.Directors like Vamsi,Krishna Vamsi shoot at least once scene at Purushothapatnam. Pattiseema the famous Lord Siva temple located in middile of River Godavari, People can reach to the temple from Purushothapatnam, Ramachandrapuram and Vangalapudi.
