Shri Shivshakti Peeth Seva Samiti, Umred

Shri Shiv Shakti Peeth Sewa Samiti is a non-political, spiritual oganisation based in Umred, Nagpur district. Founded in June 2010, Shri Shiv Shakti Peeth Sewa Samiti mainly fosters and nurtures various spiritual disciplines including Atmashanti (achieving peace within) and Anusandhan ((continuous contemplation of the Self). At the same time, it works to foster and nurture the hitherto neglected values that promote welfare of all people, and to inspire the people and community to embrace this path, and to revive and restore all the beneficial values that aim for the welfare of all.

The worship of Shivshakti (Shiv-Parvati e. g. Consciousness and Energy) is the birthplace of the main principles of Creation and all the Divine Principles. Hence, it occupies the highest place among all spiritual paths prescribed for the realisation of God. The worship of Shiv-Parvati is the main spiritual pillar of Shri Shivshakti Peeth Sewa Samiti.

Guru-worship is the spiritual path of Shri Shivshakti Peeth Sewa Samiti. But the Samiti’s Guru Parampara (tradition) does not place importance only on spiritual advancement. It equally emphasises the importance and necessity of doing voluntary social welfare works: actively engaging in the betterment of community, society and the nation.

Thus, the Samiti’s founder and Sadguru, while guiding disciples on the spiritual path, constantly strives to sow in them the seeds of such redeeming concepts as equality, brotherhood, unity and humanity. He tries to actively inculcate in them the trinity of worship (bhakti), action (karma) and knowledge (gyan). Moreover, he especially works to eradicate such social evils as racialism, religion-schism, blind religious beliefs and superstitions, harmful traditions, ignorance, addictions, wickedness, false pride, social discord etc.

Most importantly, Shri Guruji firmly believes that for the progress of the society and nation, it is imperative to raise the educational standards of our women and girls, especially the backward and unemployed ones, and to make available to them training so they can become financially independent and actively contribute to the nation’s prosperity. That’s why, under Shri Guruji’s inspiration and guidance, Shri Shivshakti Peeth Sewa Samiti constantly strives to achieve these and other social welfare goals.
