Sharon Bible College, Thiruvalla

Sharon Bible College was founded in 1950 by Rev. Dr. P. J. Thomas. It was his deep desire to train young men and women for the Lord’s Ministry. Immediately after purchasing the land at the heart of Tiruvalla town he conducted great crusades and revival meetings. The great revival meetings of Allen made Dr. Thomas to start the pioneer work at Tiruvalla. The small beginning of Sharon Bible Institute in his own house has been flourished within this 65 years. The school started with one year intensive training and later three years diploma in Theology programme was offered in Malayalam. In 1984 the institute started a four years B.Th. programme in English and two years G.Th programme and one year C.Th. programme in Malayalam. From 1986 onwards Sharon Bible College began to present students for Serampore B.Th. Degree examination (external).
By realizing the challenges and the importance of women ministry, by the initiative of Mrs. Thomas, Sharon Bible College started the training programme for women in Malayalam medium. This was the first Pentecostal institute for women in India.
Sharon Bible College is an educational institution and is a registered charitable society. Realizing the present need of reputed degree programme, Sharon Bible College has become an accredited member of Asia Theological Association (ATA). Now we are offering M.Div, B.Th and Dip.Th accredited by ATA.
