Mahavir Education Trust was established in the year 1983 with the main purpose of promoting technical education. With the help of generous donations of two main donors viz., Shrimati Laxmiben Karamshibhai Shah Trust and Shah Lalji Velji Anchorwala, Polytechnic under the name of Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Polytechnic was started in the year 1983. The trust was lucky to have the inauguration of the Polytechnic done at the hands of Shri Vasantdada Patil, the then, Chief Minister of Maharashtra State.

Further, it was felt that University level education was also the need of the society so within a year in 1984, Mangal Textiles Building located in the Ujagar Industrial Estate was purchased.After necessary modifications in the building Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College was started in that building in 1985.

Mahavir Education Trust’s ‘Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College’ is an established Institute with a long term standing of 25 glorious years in the field of Engineering. The Mahavir Education Trust proudly added a feather in its cap by expanding into the field of Management Sciences thereby extending its tentacles into higher Post-Graduate Education.

The Department Of Management Studies (offering the course of Master of Management Studies – MMS affiliated to the Mumbai University) was inaugurated in August 2008.

The new building is provided with Modern state of the art Electronics, Computers, IT laboratories and the necessary sized classrooms with proper lightings, the library, mini auditorium etc as per the Central/State Government authorities (i.e. A.I.C.T.E./D.T.E.) norms.

The College has been awarded “A” Grade by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State.

The built up area of the College building is 1 lac10 thousand square feet.

The Trust has developed and is maintaining two traffic islands at the Shivaji Maharaj Chowk and also maintaining a Playground. The Mahavir Education Trust is also prepared not only to maintain the Mahavir Education Trust Chowk but also the beautification of the foot path from the chowk upto the college by planting trees on the said foot path adding to the aesthetic environment and keeping with the requirement of ‘ Clean Mumbai Green Mumbai’.
