School of Planning, Bhaikaka Centre for Human Settlements

School of Planning–Bhaikaka Centre for Human Settlemets is the institution for study of Master of Urban Planning course in Arvindbhai Patel Institute of Environmental Design. The school of planning has a vast history of past fourteen years offering valued course of Planning in a very professional way. The institution is affiliated to Sardar Patel University (SPU), Vallabh Vidyanagar and registered to Institute of Town Planners (ITPI, New Delhi. The institute is currently headed by Professor Shashikant Kumar who has very sound professional experience of twenty years in the field of Urban Planning.
The emphasis of the MUP program is to train students to excel in the field of their choice, may it be higher education, teaching or practice. The Department therefore strives to dish out a well balanced curriculum with optimum amounts of academic and practical doses!
Ever since the first batch of students post graduated from this Department, almost all the students have metamorphosed into Planners. A majority of them have set up their own private practice, while other have joined either in Government or in private sectors, still others have Doctoral studies in their concerned fields, both, in India and abroad.
A research cell is also running in parallel to contribute in current Planning practices for preparing Development Plan, Town Planning Schemes, Development control regulations etc to enhance feasibility in Planning practices in India.
