Sara Group

Sara services & Engineers was established in the year 1980 to represent foreign oil field equipment manufacturers in India and simultaneously manufacture indigenously engineering equipment with foreign collaboration and technology transfers. Soon the manufactured items were marketed abroad and gained recognition for reliability and quality. Sara became one of the first Indian companies which had a global presence and acceptance.

Planet Herbs Life sciences is the herbal pharmaceutical venture of the Sara Group having its most modern manufacturing facility at Sara Industrial Estate in Dehradun. Sensing huge demand for its products worldwide the company has entered into a joint venture to set up another manufacturing facility at Bhairawa in Nepal. To ensure quality the company has started growing of essential herbs in leased farmlands for captive consumption.
The group is also associated with Monal Publishing House which takes out a local daily newspaper (The Garhwal Post) and other publishing activities. Global Logistics, the logistics arm of the group takes care of the transportation requirements for workers and material movement required between the various manufacturing divisions and contracted vendors.
In order to fulfill its corporate social responsibilities the group has taken measures for women education and awareness in villages by educating them on women empowerment and the deprived girl child upliftment especially of the weaker sections and minorities. In Sara Division 2 majority of the workers are women from weaker section of society and minorities. Deserving children of Sara Group workers and awarded annual educational scholarship as an incentive to excel in education.
The group also encourages sports and has organized the Sara Governor’s Cup Golf Tournament in Dehradun and HRH S S Gaekwad Sara Golf Tournament at Vadodara. The group is also in the process of establishing Amateur Golf Academy in Dehradun for school children to popularize the sport of Golf in the state.
It is the motto of the Sara Group of companies to work towards the economic and social growth of the nation and uplift the downtrodden by empowering women and the deprived girl child of the weaker sections of the society and minorities.

Sara Charitable Trust a dedicated endeavor of Sara Group of companies towards the social and economic development of the community.

A support project was implemented with the help of Swami Sivanand Seva Samiti to the disaster affected community in 2012 disaster occurred in Kedarnath and the en-route villages. Communities were supported with the requisite immediate medical care, food supplies tent accessories, seasonal clothes to survive. Children were supported with all schooling requisites i.e. uniforms, books stationary etc... To move ahead post disaster. Monetary donations are also provided where ever required for the students affected with disaster. Financial aid is also supported to construct homes of disaster affected people.

The Trust has initiated a signature project to improve lives of the village residents through a holistic development program. Giving importance to social good develop framework for strategic intervention that substantially contributes to reducing / eliminating poverty and deprivation and enhance welfare of the poor and excluded communities with an endeavor to work in rural areas where government efforts at the local and national levels have not yet been able to effectively address a growing disparity in quality of life. With a vision to develop the selected villages in an integrated manner improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as of the local community and society at large.
