Kundara is a place located in Kollam district of Kerala, India. It was previously known as the industrial center of Kollam district and housed many heavy industries like KEL, Kerala Ceramics, Aluminium Industries Ltd. (Alind), Laskmi Starch Company etc. It is also famous for Kundara Proclamation made by Velu Thampi Dalawa in 11 January 1809 urging the people to fight the British. Kanjiracodu fraction of the Astamudi lake is near to Kundara. Green chromide , a tasty fish is found in this part of the lake.
