Sahibganj college sahibganj is a premier educational insitute of sahibganj run under sidho-kanhu murmu university (DUMKA) Jharkhand,which was established in 1992 after dividing from Bhagalpur university (bihar).
Sahibganj college is located in the haedquater of sahibganj district which is known as the land of freedom fighters.such as sidho-khanu and chand-bhrav.
Sahibganj college was established in 1951. Since from 1951 the college held a position in Bihar and now in subdivided Jharkhand to for its quality education and strict disipline.Sahibganj college is connected through roadways,Railways and by water ways.The south of the college flows the holi river ganges and in the north the ancient Rajmahal hills which is a Place of scientist for research and in 30km . west from sahibganj college there is ancient vikramsila University and in 20km. from east there is king mansingh monuments.
As sahibganj is in santhal pragana it was very backward in the field of education seling the backwardness of education in sahibganj, The SDO sri hariwansh narayan singh held a public metting on April 15, 1951 to establish a college. The land for bulding the college was donated by sri Dhannalal Lohia sri , Fujilal Sinha , sri sivlal Basantlal and by Ramnath Bijaria.
Many great achivement had been achived by the college due to great effort of Principal teacher, student by the society too in year 2002 the study center of IGNOU was established. In 2006 the B.Ed Training center and computer training also started.In year 2009 the proffesion bachelor degree programme BCA also come in existence.
In serving education since 1951 the college achived glorius position in the field of education and cultural programme .The passout student and teacher of sahibganj college held a position in india and in abroad in different fields. Sahibganj college is known for its quality education Hard discipline and for strict examinations .The student of the college are in the field in science, litretureArts,sports,politics,and in civil services keeping the name and fame of the college at the top most in Jharkhand.
