R.Chandru

Chandru hails from Keshavavara a small village in Chikkabalapur taluk near Bangalore. His parents are small farmers. He himself also a part-time farmer and works in the fields during the weekends.
Chandru is a Kannada film writer and director. He debuted with the successful 2008 film Taj Mahal.The huge success of Taj Mahal film, he popularly came to be known as Taj Mahal Chandru in the media.

Chandru took up the film Prem Kahaani next which was also in romance genre. He chose to repeat Ajay Rao in the film. Sheela of Paragu fame played the lead actress. In 2010, he cast one of the leading stars of Kannada cinema, Shivarajkumar for his next directorial Mylari. In 2011, he directed Ko Ko starring Srinagar Kitty and Priyamani which got released in early 2012. The film did not do well at the box-office. In 2012, he directed the film Charminar with Prem Kumar and Meghana Gaonkar in the lead roles.It released in the early part of 2013.
